VisFit Swimming Lessons

At VisFit Adult Swim we are able to offer swimming lessons to non-swimmers (including confidence building and fear of water), beginners, adults who are looking to learn all 4 strokes and swimmers looking to improve strokes for competitive events. These lessons are private 1:1 sessions held at LSD in London. These courses can also be offered at a private pool of your choice within the London region. Please contact us for further information.

Ava also offers private, group or gym based Aqua Core classes for adults. The Aqua Core classes are water based lessons specially designed by Ava for all adults of all fitness levels. The core stability exercise based in water allows for better everyday balance, gives you a full body work out and incorporates strength training and endurance with minimum threat of injury or strain to the body. Aqua Core is fun and an essential work out for everyone who would like to better their posture, strengthen their abdominals and lower back.

adult_staAt VisFit adult Swim Ava follows the STA comprehensive, linked and progressive awards programme.

Adult lesson terms will consist of between 4-8 weeks of classes and a one week term break. This however may vary depending on School and bank holidays. All dates will be given and confirmed in advance with the client.

The adult group lessons will consist of no more than 6 people per class at one time (unless otherwise stated). Enrolment process for 1:1 and group lessons work on immediate payment after confirmation of attendance. Class times, duration and cost for adult swimming, Aqua core or Aqua aerobics are arranged on an individual basis.

All attendees of adult courses and lessons will receive regular progress reports in order to be kept up to date.

The adult STA series is a progressive learn to swim programme consisting of 4 awards specially designed to progress an adult from non-swimmer through to competent swimmer. The duration of each lesson for adult beginners and non-swimmers is 30 minutes. They are offered as 1:1 lessons. Each lesson is designed to enable those who feel they have a fear of water to become relaxed and confident in the pool. Ava will work on aquatic breathing, independent horizontal front and back movements, treading water, going into standing position, and a number of water safety skills. Floatation aids are available were needed to assist with swimming.

Able-Swimmers looking to learn alternative strokes or better their strokes will benefit from a 45 minute lesson entailing stroke understanding and enhancement of swimming technique, speed and endurance. The strokes are broken down into breathing, arms, legs, Body position and co-ordination. After an initial stroke evaluation Ava will tailor the lessons according to your needs.

Advance swimmers who are novice or competitive swimmers looking to improve their swimming technique will benefit from a 60 minute lesson focusing on head positioning and breathing, the arm push and recovery, entry and catch, leg reductions and sighting. After an initial stroke evaluation Ava will tailor the lessons according to your needs.

Aqua Core classes are a new concept of water based exercise specially designed by Ava for all adults of most fitness levels. The class duration is 30minutes long and can be booked as private group or 1:1 sessions. The core stability exercise in Aqua Core allows for better everyday balance, gives you a full body work out and incorporates strength training and endurance with minimum threat of injury or strain to the body. The classes are fun and an essential work out for everyone who would like to better their posture, strengthen their abdominals and lower back. Aqua aerobics classes are 45 minute sessions which can be ether private group lessons or 1:1. This form of aqua based exercise gives you a full body workout and is for all adults of any fitness level.
